A law firm seeks a junior-level associate to join its Federal Tax Controversy practice in Denver, CO. The Tax Controversy group represents various clients in complex civil and criminal disputes with the IRS and state and local tax jurisdictions, from the earliest stages of a tax audit through all administrative and judicial phases.

Duties

• Represent clients in federal and state tax disputes.
• Engage in legal research and writing for tax controversy cases.
• Collaborate with team members on complex tax matters.
• Participate in all phases of tax audits and litigation.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience in federal and international taxation.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
• Excellent oral advocacy and organizational skills.
• Federal tax subject matter knowledge required.
• Experience in federal tax controversy preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
