This role involves representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and state tax agencies, conducting legal research, and managing client relationships.

Duties

• Represent taxpayers before the IRS and state tax agencies.
• Conduct efficient legal research and analysis.
• Prepare and review draft legal documents related to tax controversies.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines under attorney supervision.
• Interact daily with clients and manage client relationships.
• Collaborate with large transactional practices.

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of civil tax controversy experience.
• Experience with IRS and state tax agencies.
• Ability to break down complex topics and identify solutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and strong technical abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission promptly in the jurisdiction of resident office location.

Skills

• Experience before the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Courts, and/or the Court of Federal Claims is a plus.
• LL.M. in Taxation is a plus.
