A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in estate planning and administration. The position involves drafting estate planning documents, managing estate administration, and advising clients on complex trust and estate matters. Location

• Garen City, New York

Duties

• Draft estate planning documents, including Wills, Grantor Trusts, revocable and irrevocable trusts, QPRTs, CRUTs/CRATs, and ILITs.
• Handle all aspects of estate administration, including preparing and filing probate and administration petitions, preparing and filing estate tax returns, managing estate accounts, and overseeing estate distribution.
• Represent clients in will contests, accountings, and miscellaneous proceedings.
• Meet with and interview clients to develop estate plans and supervise the execution of wills.
• Advise and assist trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives in probate and trust administration matters, including disputes.
• Conduct in-depth research on complex estate and gift tax issues.

Requirements

• Admission to the New York Bar.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Trusts & Estates law.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• New York Bar Admission.

Skills

• Strong research and writing skills, including proficiency in technological sources of research.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work independently.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle complex legal matters.
