Defense Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Roseland, NJ is seeking a Defense Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience handling professional liability claims. The ideal candidate must possess superior written and oral communication skills, organizational abilities, and familiarity with NJ and NY Civil Court Rules. They should also demonstrate the ability to manage their own caseload with oversight by partners.

Duties:

• Manage own caseload with oversight by partners.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and write memorandums.
• Attend hearings, court conferences, and inspections.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Consult with expert witnesses.
• Attend mediations.
• Prepare for trials and participate in trial proceedings.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience handling professional liability claims.
• Superior written and oral communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Familiarity with NJ and NY Civil Court Rules.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar (admission to the New York Bar is a plus).

Education/Certifications:
