Job Overview: A prominent law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to provide legal assistance to K-12 schools and community colleges. The successful candidate will navigate diverse legal challenges and offer strategic solutions to educational institutions. This role is ideal for a skilled attorney who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing cases independently from start to finish.

Duties:

• Handle a wide range of civil litigation cases from initiation to resolution.
• Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment.
• Conduct depositions, both taking and defending.
• Collaborate with legal teams and clients to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Manage a full caseload independently, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to public schools and community colleges.
• Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations as necessary.

Requirements:

• 6-10 years of litigation experience, preferably covering the full spectrum of civil litigation.
• Proven ability to draft and argue complex motions and conduct depositions.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills with a detail-focused, deadline-driven work ethic.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Federal court and trial experience are beneficial but not required.
• Familiarity with insurance defense and public entity defense is advantageous.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar is required.
