Duties:

• Represent public school districts and educational institutions in various legal matters, including employment law, governance, administrative law, and student issues.
• Handle civil rights and constitutional law cases involving educational entities.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and opinions.
• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on a range of education-related issues.
• Attend hearings, depositions, and court proceedings.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure effective legal solutions.
• Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail in all cases and tasks.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• 1-3 years of experience in education law, governmental law, or related practice areas.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Texas State Bar membership.

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with clients and colleagues effectively.
• Public speaking and presentation skills are preferred.
• Experience working with school districts or governmental entities is an asset.
