A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney to join its team in Orlando, FL. Duties:
Handle a variety of immigration cases, including family-based immigration, employment-based petitions, and deportation defense.
Represent clients in federal immigration proceedings and state court criminal matters related to immigration.
Conduct client consultations, assess legal strategies, and provide informed recommendations.
Draft and file legal documents, motions, and briefs.
Supervise and delegate tasks to paralegals, legal assistants, and specialists, ensuring efficient case management.
Visit and counsel clients in detention centers as necessary.
Maintain client relationships by providing consistent communication and legal updates.
Stay up to date with changes in immigration law and policies to provide effective legal representation.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law.
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
Experience handling cases related to family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, and removal defense.
Comfortable representing clients in hearings, interviews, and court proceedings.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active bar license in any U.S. state (Florida Bar preferred).
Certifications:
Good standing with the state bar association.
Additional certifications related to immigration law are a plus.
Skills:
Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
Bilingual skills (Spanish or another language) preferred but not required.
