A prestigious law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a highly motivated Junior Tax Associate Attorney to join its Affordable Housing and Tax Credit Team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a legal professional eager to contribute to the development, acquisition, construction, and operation of affordable multifamily housing projects across the United States. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in partnership tax and federal income tax credits while collaborating with a dynamic legal team dedicated to supporting both for-profit and nonprofit developers.
Advise clients on federal, state, and local tax incentives related to affordable housing developments.
Structure and negotiate transactions involving federal income tax credits.
Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, contracts, and transactional documents.
Assist in the acquisition, financing, and development of affordable housing projects.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, investors, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and program requirements.
Strong background in partnership tax and federal income tax credits.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex tax regulations.
Exceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. state and good standing with the bar.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
LLM in Taxation (preferred).
Undergraduate degree in Accounting (preferred).
Active membership in any U.S. State Bar (Good Standing required).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience working with clients in a legal advisory capacity.
Proficiency in tax-related research and drafting legal documents.
