Director of Governmental Affairs
The candidate will participate in State public policy advocacy and participation in NAIC and industry associations. Represent Company on Capitol Hill and before Federal Agencies, such as FTC and CFPB. Develop public policy positions and advocate on behalf of the Company. Conduct research and provide advice to internal departments on regulatory and compliance matters. Draft Company comments, letters and other documents relating to Federal and State legislation and agency rulemakings. Participate in Governmental investigations and enforcement actions. Advise on compliance related topics, such as privacy and cybersecurity rules, TCPA, OFAC, and advertising/marketing. BA/BS in Business, Political Science, or law school is preferred. Juris Doctorate Degree is preferred. Should have 4-7 years legislative or legal experience. Experience on the Hill or as an in-house, government or private practice lawyer is preferred. Insurance or other Financial Services experience is a plus.
