Professional IV Senior Accountant
The candidate will perform responsibilities as a senior accountant for the Financial Operations Group within the Office of the CFO. Provide general accounting, financial reporting, research and analysis of accounting and financial reporting issues, and provides additional support to the Financial Reporting Team. Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager. Reviews and analyzes customer accounting and reporting. Finds solutions to accounting problems and customer issues. Provides financial information to management and stakeholders by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports. Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards for the accounting department. Performs and prepares accurately and timely journal entries, general ledger posts, balance and reconciliations, entry adjustments, financial statements and closing the books. Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. Maintains financial security by following internal controls and standard operating procedures. Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal accounting standards (SFFAS), applicable laws, regulations, DOE contractual requirements, and NREL and Alliance policies and procedures. Maintains a high standard of customer service to stakeholders and internal customers.
