Associate Litigation Attorney Medical Malpractice Defense

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join a prominent medical malpractice defense team in downtown Denver. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with 3-6 years of experience in medical malpractice and general liability defense. The successful applicant will engage in pre-trial and trial work, including motion practice, depositions, and case management, while also maintaining direct client contact. Ideal candidates will be proficient in legal research, writing, and drafting documents, with a preference for those with law review or similar writing experience.

Duties:

• Handle a diverse caseload related to medical malpractice and general liability defense.
• Participate in all aspects of litigation, including pre-trial, trial work, motion practice, and depositions.
• Manage case assessments, develop litigation strategies, and oversee case progress.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests and other legal documents.
• Engage directly with clients to provide updates and strategic guidance.
• Conduct thorough legal research and produce high-quality written work.
• Contribute to the development of case strategies and contribute to team collaboration.
• Provide support in trial preparation and courtroom presentations.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in medical malpractice and general liability defense.
• Active license to practice law in Colorado (Licensure in New Mexico is a plus).
• Strong experience with pre-trial and trial litigation.
• Ability to draft legal documents, including motions and discovery responses.
• Proven skills in legal research and writing.
• Law review experience or other substantial writing background preferred.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• Strong organizational and case management abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in good standing with the Colorado Bar (New Mexico licensure is a plus).
