A law firm seeks an experienced Staff Attorney to join the Personal and Succession Planning practice group in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports a wide range of estate administration, estate and gift tax, and trust administration matters.

Duties

• Prepare initial probate papers and court-required filings.
• Value assets using research and approved tools.
• Track and communicate filing deadlines for firm-wide docketing.
• Liaise with courts and government agencies for processing filings.
• Draft deeds and transfer documents to fund revocable trusts.
• Coordinate beneficiary distributions and research state records.
• Gather and organize gift, asset, and debt information.
• Prepare first drafts of estate and gift tax returns.
• Collaborate with external professionals like accountants and financial advisors.
• Review brokerage statements and prepare reports for beneficiaries.

Requirements

• Experience in estate administration and trust management.
• Prior work with banks, county auditors, and governmental agencies.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of Ohio.

Skills
