The candidate work on international tax engagements, applying knowledge of US and foreign tax policies to resolve specific multinational client issues in the areas of investment and hedge funds, mutual funds, and/or private equity. Work on key client issues in domestic federal, international, and state and local taxation, focusing on implementing tax strategies. Assist clients with finance and tax processes that prepare statutory financial and tax filings as required in various countries around the world. Work strategically with clients to help balance risks, take advantage of opportunities, and achieve sustainability goals. Research tax technical issues and write opinions and tax memos for clients on specific tax issues. Team with tax professionals to provide comprehensive tax solutions. Determine all information required to ensure/complete accurate tax compliance. Formulate plans to gather and communicate information. Determine areas of exposure and adapt to challenges in the compliance process. Required to obtain a CPA, JD or other alternate certifications based on approval from practice leadership within one year from hire date. Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Law or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience in federal income taxation and managed investment vehicles for the financial services industry. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Law or a related field and 4 years of related work experience in federal income taxation and managed investment vehicles for the financial services industry. Must have 2 years of work experience in state and local tax. Must have 3 years of experience working with private equity clients. Must have 3 years of experience reviewing financial services industry tax returns. Must have 2 years of experience in private equity structuring taxation.
