Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience in medical malpractice defense for its St. Louis, MO office. The ideal candidate will be licensed in Missouri and Illinois, capable of working independently on complex cases, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Duties

• Manage files throughout the litigation process independently and as part of a team.
• Conduct fact investigations.
• Handle document productions and other discovery tasks.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Review and analyze policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments of motions.
• Prepare for and attend trials, including trial team support and direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.
• 2-5 years of experience in medical malpractice defense.
• Ability to work independently on complex cases.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Missouri and Illinois.
