A law firm seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney in Troy, MI, to manage a diverse caseload of civil matters from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal judgment, excellent writing and oral advocacy skills, and the ability to manage cases independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and clients.

Duties

• Manage a full civil litigation caseload, including medical malpractice, personal injury, and product liability claims.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
• Take and defend depositions, including expert and fact witnesses.
• Represent clients in hearings and trials.
• Develop case strategy from pre-suit investigation through trial.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, risks, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and ethical obligations.
• Supervise and mentor paralegals and support staff as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate time records and case documentation in accordance with firm policies.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in good standing in Michigan.
• Minimum of 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling cases independently.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Courtroom experience, including motion practice and evidentiary hearings.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and client-communication skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Michigan.
