Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Dayton, OH to support and expand its workers' compensation practice. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and at least two years of experience in civil litigation, with a preference for experience in workers' compensation or insurance defense.

Duties

• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and trial.
• Represent clients at administrative and court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate with clients, third-party administrators, and opposing counsel.
• Consistently communicate with clients regarding the status of pending matters.
• Provide legal counsel and risk assessment to clients.
• Conduct legal research and analysis, draft briefs, motions, and other legal documents.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the Ohio State Bar; additional state bar admissions are a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in civil litigation.
• Experience in workers' compensation and/or insurance defense considered a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Ohio State Bar.
