Duties

• Advise co-op and condominium boards on governance, fiduciary duties, and compliance.
• Draft and negotiate construction, vendor, and professional service contracts.
• Assist with refinancing of underlying mortgages and lines of credit.
• Review and amend governing documents such as proprietary leases and bylaws.
• Counsel on preparation and conduct of shareholder/unit owner meetings.
• Conduct meetings, overseeing voting and reporting procedures.
• Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance issues.
• Review and negotiate retail and commercial leases within co-op and condo buildings.
• Handle cooperative and condominium closings and related transactions.
• Advise on trust transfers and review associated documentation.
• Collaborate with partners and clients for timely legal service delivery.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in New York State.
• Experience in co-op and condominium law.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• New York State Bar admission.

Skills
