Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its creditors' rights practice group in Louisville, KY. The ideal candidate will hold a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and possess or be able to obtain an Indiana law license. This role involves engaging in meaningful legal work, including court appearances and client interactions.

Duties

• Attend court hearings.
• Monitor files from answer to judgment.
• Communicate with clients and attorneys to resolve legal matters.
• Provide clients with status updates verbally and via email/websites.
• Review client-provided file information for accuracy.
• Summarize legal documents.
• Prepare and review declarations and affidavits.
• Prepare correspondence to courts, attorneys, and clients.
• Prepare and file pleadings.
• Draft motions and responses to motions.
• Review bankruptcy filings and other notifications.
• Perform online records research.

Requirements

• Excellent analytical, writing, research, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and case management software.
• Basic typing skills.
• Ability to multitask and self-motivate.
• Desire to collaborate with others to achieve goals.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution.

Certifications

• License to practice law in Indiana or ability to obtain one.

Skills

• Strong investigative abilities.
