Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in personal injury defense, employment, and commercial litigation. Candidates must be licensed in Oregon or Washington and demonstrate the ability to work independently on complex litigation cases.

Duties

• Manage files throughout the litigation process independently and as part of a team.
• Conduct fact investigations.
• Handle document productions and other discovery tasks.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Review and analyze policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments of motions.
• Prepare for and attend trials, including trial team support and direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Oregon or Washington.
• Minimum of three years of experience in personal injury defense, employment, and commercial litigation.
• Ability to work independently on complex litigation cases.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Oregon or Washington.
