Job Overview:
A law firm based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, is seeking a seasoned immigration attorney with a strong background in removal defense and family-based immigration matters. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with a skilled team of legal professionals while independently managing a diverse caseload. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, litigation experience, and a client-centered approach to immigration representation.

Duties:

• Interpret complex immigration laws and provide clients with strategic advice

• Represent clients detained and non-detained—before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Conduct in-person visits and intake interviews with individuals at detention facilities

• Draft and file various immigration petitions and legal briefs, including family-based applications and removal defense documentation

• Review case filings for accuracy and completeness, suggesting and implementing necessary changes

• Collaborate with legal support staff, other attorneys, and external stakeholders

• Engage with community organizations and public offices to share updates on immigration developments

• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and USCIS interviews

• Conduct consultations to assess legal options and recommend viable paths for immigration relief

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience practicing immigration law

• Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases simultaneously

• Strong oral advocacy and legal research skills

• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

• Spanish fluency is preferred but not mandatory

• Proficient in engaging with culturally diverse populations

• Familiarity with case management systems is desirable

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the Bar of any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

• Expertise in EOIR proceedings, humanitarian-based immigration applications, naturalization, and family petitions

• High-level interpersonal communication and client interaction skills

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Adaptability in fast-paced and high-stakes legal environments
