A law firm seeks a seasoned Senior Employment Law Attorney with 14 years of experience to join its team in Los Angeles, California. The successful candidate will manage a broad range of employment matters, providing strategic advice and representation to corporate clients on compliance, litigation, and policy development.

Duties

• Advise clients on federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Draft and review employment agreements, policies, handbooks, and severance packages.
• Conduct internal investigations into workplace complaints, such as harassment and discrimination.
• Represent clients in administrative proceedings before agencies like the EEOC and California DFEH.
• Handle all phases of employment litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, hearings, and trial.
• Counsel on wage-and-hour matters, overtime audits, and class/representative actions.
• Develop and deliver training sessions on employment compliance and risk management.
• Collaborate with HR teams to implement best practices and mitigate potential liabilities.

Requirements

• 14 years of experience practicing employment law.
• Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
• Proven track record of handling complex employment litigation and advisory matters.
• Ability to manage a high-volume docket and multiple client engagements simultaneously.
• Strong judgment and commercial awareness in addressing client objectives.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of California (preferred).
• Professional memberships, such as the California Lawyers Association, Labor & Employment Section.

Skills

• Exceptional legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, FEHA, ADA, and related statutes.
• Proficiency with litigation databases and research platforms, including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Strong interpersonal skills for client counseling and conflict resolution.
• Detail-oriented approach with exceptional organizational and time-management capabilities.
• Capacity to work independently and mentor junior attorneys.
