Duties:

• Review and assess new case files to determine strategy, budgeting needs, and initial recommendations

• Identify necessary pleadings and delegate supporting tasks to legal staff as appropriate

• Prepare and respond to discovery, manage document productions, and conduct legal research

• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and other pre-trial proceedings, and provide comprehensive case updates

• Negotiate settlements and obtain necessary authority in line with client expectations

• Maintain consistent communication with legal assistants and paralegal staff to ensure workflow efficiency

• Prepare for trial, including strategy development and client coordination when required

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in South Carolina

• 1-5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in workers’ compensation or insurance defense litigation

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on responsiveness and professionalism

• Ability to handle a fast-paced workload while managing multiple case matters concurrently

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with legal database systems is an advantage

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the South Carolina Bar (mandatory)
