Associate Attorney needed for Charleston office

Job Overview: A law firm in Charleston, SC, seeks a qualified and motivated Associate Attorney to join their General Liability/Workers' Compensation department. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school, at least 2 years of experience in general liability, and be admitted to practice in NC and SC. The Associate Attorney will be crucial in file review, legal analysis, client representation, and trial preparation.

Job Details:

• Conduct thorough file reviews and legal analyses of claims and causes of action.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft various legal documents, including client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Regularly represent clients in court, arbitrations, depositions, and hearings.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Collaborate in expert witness retention and coordination.
• Prepare for trials and attend as necessary.
• Some travel may be required.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in general liability; experience in other practice areas is a plus.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admitted to practice in both North Carolina and South Carolina; admission in other states is a plus.
