Associate Attorney needed for Charleston office

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team in Charleston, SC. This position offers an opportunity to support Commercial Litigation practice group partners.

Job Overview:

• Provide support to partners in the Commercial Litigation practice group.
• Work in a dynamic practice that includes all aspects of commercial litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions practice, and trial.
• Must possess exceptional organizational, communication, research, and writing skills.
• Ideal candidates must have strong attention to detail and the ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface with clients and attorneys.

Duties:

• Assist partners in all aspects of commercial litigation, including but not limited to discovery, depositions, motions practice, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation matters.
• Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met promptly.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as necessary.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• 3-5 years of litigation experience at a law firm.
• Licensed and in good standing with the South Carolina Bar.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
