Assistant Director, EOC and Investigations
The candidate supports the University’s institution-wide efforts to advance equal opportunity, equal access and affirmative action by developing, implementing, and managing practices and policies that create an environment and culture of inclusivity. Working with the Director EOC, this position is responsible for assisting with developing and disseminating nondiscrimination/affirmative action policies and procedures, and recommending corrective action as needed. In collaboration with appropriate university departments as well as external resources, maintains the program for monitoring university equal opportunity compliance, reviewing and revising compliance reporting as necessary. Responsible for hearing and investigating complaints of unlawful discrimination and harassment and for enforcing relevant regulations and policies on behalf of the university, coordinating with university resources dedicated to diversity and inclusion, overseeing conflict resolution of informal matters, and working directly with the Office of University Counsel. Manages the education and training for EO/AA/Diversity component of the University’s Equal Opportunity Ombudsperson program. Ensures and maintains updates to the department’s electronic and printed materials, ensures that federal and state compliance postings are current, and networks with other industry professionals through organizational memberships and affiliations to remain current with local, state and federal regulations. Also responsible for advising supervisors, managers, and HR staff on matters pertaining to nondiscrimination and the university’s affirmative action policy, in relation to students, faculty, staff, and vendors. Performs other related duties as assigned.
