Job Overview:

A nationally recognized law firm is hiring a mid-level associate attorney with experience in mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and joint ventures to join its Corporate & Securities Practice, specifically within the Healthcare Industry Team. The position provides an opportunity to work on strategic transactions involving some of the most innovative and high-growth companies in the healthcare sector, including hospitals, health plans, digital health providers, and private equity investors. The role offers hands-on client work, substantive deal experience, and mentorship from experienced partners.

Location:

• Chicago, IL

Duties:

• Represent healthcare industry clients in M&A, private equity, and joint venture transactions

• Assist with legal due diligence, structuring, and negotiation of complex deals

• Draft and revise transactional documents and corporate governance agreements

• Advise clients on corporate formation, strategy, and operational issues

• Work closely with partners and other team members to deliver solutions on sophisticated legal matters

• Collaborate across departments, including regulatory and tax teams, to ensure holistic advice

• Participate in ongoing professional training, team meetings, and knowledge sharing initiatives

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in M&A, private equity, and/or joint venture transactions

• Experience advising or working with clients in the healthcare industry strongly preferred

• Ability to manage projects independently and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues

• Demonstrated capability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in the state of the office location selected

• In good standing with the relevant state bar

Skills:

• Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Effective written and verbal communication

• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
