Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Business Litigation Associate Attorney with 3 to 7 years of substantive litigation experience to join its Chicago office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters, including case management, court appearances, depositions, and trial participation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across all stages of litigation and demonstrate strong advocacy, communication, and organizational skills.

Location:

• Chicago, Illinois

Duties:

• Handle all phases of litigation including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation

• Draft legal documents including motions, briefs, and pleadings

• Prepare and defend depositions; support and lead witness preparation

• Participate in court appearances and hearings

• Conduct factual investigations and manage discovery processes

• Collaborate with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management

• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as needed

• Engage in direct client communication and case development

Requirements:

• 3–7 years of litigation experience, preferably in a business or commercial context

• Strong background in fact development, deposition practice, and courtroom advocacy

• Experience managing complex case files and litigation workflows

• Ability to meet tight deadlines while producing high-quality work

• Admission to the Illinois Bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar

Skills:

• Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills

• Strong analytical and research capabilities

• Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills

• Proficiency in managing multiple matters simultaneously
