Job Overview: A law firm in Tampa, FL, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional legal representation to clients primarily focusing on defense litigation. They will manage all aspects of cases from intake to appeal, ensuring high-quality service and effective cost management.

Duties:

• Handle case intake, including initial client meetings and assessment of legal matters.
• Develop case strategies and budgets in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting of motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Provide advice and counsel to clients on legal matters, including risk assessment and potential outcomes.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Prepare for and participate in trials, hearings, and appellate proceedings as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records, including billing and timekeeping entries.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the State and Federal Courts of Florida.
• Certificate(s) of Good Standing from appropriate governing bodies.
• Demonstrated experience in defense litigation, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and technology.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the various State and Federal Courts of Florida.
• Certificate(s) of Good Standing from appropriate governing bodies.
