Job Overview:

A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Litigation Attorney to handle a high-volume docket focused on premises liability matters. This role involves leading litigation strategy, managing cases through to verdict, and advocating for injured clients in court. The ideal candidate brings deep trial experience, strong communication abilities, and a results-driven mindset. Duties:

  • Manage an active docket of approximately 150 personal injury cases, with 50+ in litigation at any given time

  • Serve as lead on all aspects of litigation, from case intake to resolution or jury verdict

  • Conduct discovery, including depositions, expert witness preparation, and motion practice

  • Attend and lead mediations, settlement conferences, and courtroom hearings

  • Represent clients as first-chair in jury trials and deliver compelling legal arguments

  • Maintain consistent and professional client communication throughout the litigation process

  • Develop and execute a litigation strategy tailored to each case

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation or personal injury law

  • At least 5 first-chair jury verdicts required; preference given to candidates with 10+

  • Admitted and in good standing with the Texas State Bar

  • Familiarity with both the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and the Rules of Evidence

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload with minimal oversight

  • Prior experience on either the plaintiff or defense side (plaintiff-side preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas

  • Additional State Bar admissions considered an advantage

Skills:

  • Outstanding oral and written advocacy skills

  • Ability to think strategically and adapt in high-pressure situations

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities

  • Proficient in legal research, drafting motions, and trial preparation

  • Technologically savvy, especially with case management and litigation tools
