A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Law Attorney with 7+ years of expertise to join its expanding employment law practice. The ideal candidate will have a well-developed practice and significant experience in areas such as employee handbooks, wage and hour compliance, employer guidance, and employee training on harassment prevention, leadership development, and crisis management. Prior experience working with independent schools (grades K-12), either as outside or in-house counsel, is a plus.

Duties

• Provide legal counsel on employment law matters, including wage and hour compliance, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.
• Advise employers on hiring practices, leadership development, and contract negotiations.
• Conduct on-site employee training on harassment prevention, legal compliance, and workplace conduct.
• Lead investigations into employee issues and workplace crises, offering legal guidance on risk management.
• Develop and implement workplace policies, compliance strategies, and employee relations programs.
• Serve clients across various sectors, with particular emphasis on independent schools (K-12), in managing employment-related issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in employment law with a focus on counseling employers on legal and regulatory matters.
• Strong background in wage and hour compliance, employee handbooks, and employment policies.
• Expertise in conducting employee training and leading investigations into workplace issues.
• Experience working with independent schools (K-12) is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage client relationships and work on multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven leadership and organizational skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the relevant state(s).

• In-depth knowledge of employment law, including workplace compliance and regulations.

• Experience with risk management, crisis response, and investigations.
