Associate Attorney needed for Springfield office

Profile

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for their Springfield, MO office. The Associate Attorney will assist in the areas of corporate law, transaction law, and litigation. Responsibilities include taking depositions, conducting discovery, performing legal research, drafting legal documents, arguing motions at trial court level, attending hearings and conferences with judges, and remaining current with developments in the law.

Duties:

• Assist in corporate law, transaction law, and litigation matters
• Take depositions of Plaintiffs/Claimants, witnesses, experts, and other parties
• Conduct discovery
• Perform legal research
• Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents
• Argue motions at trial court level
• Attend hearings and conferences with judges
• Remain current with developments in the law

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Licensed in Missouri or have sat for the Missouri Bar
• 0-5 years of legal experience
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
