Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Torrance, California office. The ideal candidate will have experience in asbestos litigation or demonstrate ambition and willingness to represent clients affected by mesothelioma and lung cancer due to asbestos exposure.

Duties

• Assist Supervising Attorney with case work up and motions.
• Conduct client and witness interviews to obtain and evaluate information.
• Depose witnesses and clients.
• Draft and review discovery, motions, memoranda, and trial pleadings.
• Appear in court as needed.
• Occasional travel is required.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated and well-organized.
• Proficient in Adobe and MS Office applications such as Word and Outlook.
• Compassion for helping terminally sick clients.

Education

• Licensed to practice law in the State of California.

Certifications

• Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.

Skills

• Strong writing skills.
• Ability to establish a knowledge base of products and exposures.
