Graduate Fellowship Program
The Fellowship Program places new associates from law firms at public interest law agencies in Illinois, where they are typically paid by their hiring firm to work for 300 hours between graduation and joining the firm. The Fellow will work on a wide and diverse range of issues depending on the agency where they serve. Will also work on transactional matters such as policy development and analysis, advocacy, impact litigation and more. Will work with the International Human Rights Clinic. The Fellow will have the opportunity to provide direct legal representation to individuals applying for asylum and other forms of immigration or humanitarian assistance; work on impact cases and projects; engage in community legal education; and conduct community outreach in an effort to narrow the access to justice gap. Fellows will be involved in all aspects of individual client representation and project work, including interviewing and counseling clients, interviewing expert witnesses, researching, writing and drafting, and appearing before administrative agencies and court.
