A well-established regional law firm is seeking a full-time Employment and Labor Law Associate to join its Litigation Practice Group in Lincoln, Nebraska. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong interest or background in advising employers on regulatory compliance, workplace disputes, and labor relations. The role includes client counseling, litigation support, agreement drafting, and representation in employment-related matters. The attorney will work directly with the firm’s leadership and have opportunities to manage cases independently and contribute to team development.

Provide strategic legal advice on employment and labor matters, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws
Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and settlement agreements
Represent clients in employment litigation and administrative proceedings
Conduct workplace investigations and audits; develop risk-mitigation strategies
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence
Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel
Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment laws and emerging issues
Maintain communication with clients, courts, and regulatory agencies
Manage an active caseload with attention to deadlines and client objectives
Supervise and mentor support staff
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support client matters
Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience preferred, with exposure to employment law or labor relations
Ability to manage cases independently and provide high-quality legal services under pressure
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and maintain attention to detail
Strong work ethic, professional judgment, and commitment to client service
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in the state of Nebraska (or eligible for admission)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Capable of adapting in a fast-paced and evolving legal environment
