Associate Attorney
The candidate will perform legal services including: legal research; drafting motions, pleadings and briefs. Conduct regular file reviews and other procedural duties as required by firm policy. Work mostly on Family and Child Welfare appeals, but will be willing to work on other types of appeals if the need arises. Assist in proactively setting case strategy and initiating actions that will benefit the client rather than awaiting instructions. Work in cooperation with firm staff to efficiently, cost-effectively and promptly deliver the client work product. Must have a law degree from an accredited law school and be licensed or in the process of obtaining a license in Michigan. Should have 0-3 years of experience in a law firm. Exceptional Legal Writing/Argument skills are needed. Excellent speaking skills/confidence in speaking for Oral Arguments. Willingness to continue learning and growing in firm practice areas. Must be familiar with, or willing to learn Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office Suite.
