A law firm in Colchester, VT, is seeking a dedicated Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal counsel across various practice areas, including transactional law, family law, and litigation while demonstrating strong legal acumen and client-focused advocacy.

Job Duties:

• Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in transactional law, family law, and litigation matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research, analyze complex issues, and develop well-founded legal strategies.
• Draft a wide range of legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and court filings with precision and attention to detail.
• Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings with strong oral advocacy skills.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of legal matters.
• Stay updated with developments in the law and participate in continuing legal education to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
• Uphold ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the state of Vermont.
• 3+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
• Strong writing and oral advocacy skills, capable of communicating complex legal concepts effectively.
• Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and drafting of legal documents.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Prior experience in transactional law, family law, or litigation is preferred.
• Existing client base or ability to generate business would be advantageous.
