A law firm seeks a highly-qualified Trust and Estates Associate with 2-6 years of experience to join their team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will have a strong background in planning and drafting for clients with taxable estates, utilizing complex estate planning instruments.

Duties

• Plan and draft estate documents for clients with taxable estates.
• Facilitate the transfer of multi-generational wealth using GST-exempt trusts, GRATs, SLATs, and IDGTs.
• Manage post-mortem administration tasks.
• Prepare and review tax returns, including Forms 706, 709, and 1041.
• Collaborate effectively with lawyers and non-lawyers.

Requirements

• 2-6 years of relevant experience in trusts and estates.
• Strong organizational, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Illinois bar admission required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
