This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a technical foundation and 2-4 years of experience handling patent or trade secret disputes. Duties:

• Handle all aspects of intellectual property litigation, with a focus on patent and/or trade secret disputes

• Draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda for federal court proceedings and administrative reviews

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to technical subject matter

• Collaborate with internal legal teams and technical experts to develop litigation strategy

• Participate in depositions, hearings, and case management conferences

• Assist in managing discovery processes, including expert reports and technical document review

• Engage with clients on case strategy and updates

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of experience working on intellectual property matters, specifically in patent or trade secret litigation

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar (or eligibility for admission)

• Demonstrated ability to handle independent assignments and meet strict deadlines

• Strong writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated initiative, integrity, and professional maturity

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• An undergraduate degree (or higher) in one of the following fields is preferred:

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Computer Science

  • Physics

  • Chemistry

  • Biochemistry

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Or a closely related technical discipline

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Illinois State Bar or ability to obtain promptly
