Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Defend construction site personal injury and property damage claims under New York Labor Law

• Manage case files from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation

• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs

• Attend court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences

• Collaborate closely with supervising partner and litigation team on strategy and case development

• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, and expert witnesses as necessary

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of civil defense experience, specifically in construction litigation or insurance defense

• Substantial knowledge of New York Labor Law and construction-related claims

• Ability to handle multiple active litigation files independently and efficiently

• Previous experience working with insurance carriers and third-party administrators

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills including motion practice, depositions, and court appearances

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional legal research and analytical abilities

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player
