Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to support its legal practice serving schools and municipalities across Minnesota and Wisconsin. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or an early-career attorney to gain broad experience in municipal law, including labor and employment, education law, land use, contracts, and litigation. The ideal candidate possesses strong legal research and writing skills and is eager to develop their expertise in a collaborative and client-focused environment.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, contracts, and other legal documents.

• Provide legal counsel to schools, municipalities, and other public entities on various matters, including employment law, education policies, and governance.

• Assist with contract negotiation, drafting, and review.

• Handle litigation-related tasks, including drafting motions, preparing for hearings, and representing clients in administrative or judicial proceedings.

• Interpret and apply local, state, and federal laws to support client needs.

• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams to develop case strategies.

• Participate in training sessions, presentations, and educational workshops for clients.

Requirements

• Strong legal research and writing skills.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Minnesota State Bar or eligibility to obtain Minnesota licensure.
