A well-established and growing law firm based in Massachusetts is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its practice focused on labor and employment law. The firm provides legal counsel and training to a wide range of clients, including municipalities, housing authorities, financial institutions, and private employers. The ideal candidate will bring strong writing, research, and client communication skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment. This position is in-person and based out of the firm’s Pembroke, MA office.

Location

• Pembroke, Massachusetts

Duties

• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on labor and employment matters

• Provide counsel to clients on workplace-related legal issues

• Assist in handling municipal civil service grievances and appeals

• Participate in contract negotiations with public and private sector entities

• Draft memoranda, letters, and other legal documents for clients and agencies

• Contribute to workplace training programs and compliance efforts

• Collaborate with attorneys and staff on case management and strategy

• Perform other legal and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously

• Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and in a team

• Willingness to commute to the office daily

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

• Candidates awaiting bar results will be considered

Certifications

• Active membership in the Massachusetts Bar (preferred or pending if awaiting results)

Skills

• Legal research and drafting

• Familiarity with labor and employment laws and municipal law is a plus

• Client communication and negotiation

• Use of standard office technologies and legal software
