Job Overview: A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to assist in contract interpretation, commercial disputes, and research in various legal areas, primarily focusing on maritime law, admiralty jurisdiction, environmental regulations, pollution obligations, and construction law. The ideal candidate should have excellent writing skills, be highly organized, possess strong analytical abilities, and exhibit proficiency in legal research. They should also be proficient in communication and collaboration within the team and with external parties.

Duties:

• Assist with contract interpretation and analysis.
• Handle commercial disputes.
• Investigate, research, and draft insurance coverage opinions for cases involving maritime law, admiralty jurisdiction, environmental regulations, pollution obligations, and construction law.
• Collaborate with other team members on legal projects.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of work experience.
• An active member in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
• Exceptional writing, organizational, analytical, and research abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Familiarity with open and public sources of information.
• Ability to effectively communicate within the team and with external parties.
• Desire to grow with the firm.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with contract matters.
• Experience with insurance coverage.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Louisiana State Bar.
