Duties

• Gather and review medical evidence and records.
• Conduct depositions of claimants, physicians, and experts.
• Perform legal research and stay updated on legal developments.
• Draft legal documents including pleadings and motions.
• Litigate cases before workers' compensation judges.
• Represent employers or insurers in various legal proceedings.
• Communicate with claims representatives and monitor reports.
• Assist in accident investigations and manage costs.
• Compile and submit management reports.
• Coordinate and attend claims reviews and negotiate settlements.

Requirements

• J.D. and licensed in Kansas or Missouri.
• Experience in workers' compensation defense; general litigation is a plus.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws.
• Proficiency in legal research techniques and terminology.
• Experience with Microsoft Word; Time Matters preferred.
• Maintain firm and client confidentiality.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Kansas or Missouri.
