A regional law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Attorney with at least 3 years of experience to join its team in St. Louis, Missouri. This full-time position focuses on defending employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters and provides the opportunity to litigate cases, conduct depositions, and handle all phases of claims management. The ideal candidate is well-versed in Missouri and regional workers' compensation law, possesses strong litigation skills, and is capable of independently managing a high-volume caseload.

Represent employers and insurers in workers’ compensation litigation
Gather and analyze medical records and evidence
Take depositions of claimants, medical experts, and other relevant parties
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and findings of fact
Conduct legal research and remain current on statutory and regulatory updates
Appear before administrative law judges and other forums for hearings and trials
Attend mediations, arbitrations, oral arguments, and claims review sessions
Communicate regularly with claims representatives and company management
Assist with the investigation of workplace accidents and claims trends
Manage claim-related costs and propose strategies to reduce liability
Negotiate settlements and prepare reports on case developments
Ensure strict adherence to client confidentiality and case protocols
Minimum of 3 years of experience in workers’ compensation defense litigation
Strong litigation background with experience representing clients in hearings and negotiations
Familiarity with accident investigation and claims cost management
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
Active license to practice law in Missouri or Illinois (required)
Admission in other Midwest states is a plus
In-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and legal procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with Perfect Law software is preferred
Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills
Ability to analyze complex medical and legal documentation
