A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney in Owings Mills, MD. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of advising both for-profit and non-profit businesses. Duties

• Draft and prepare employment agreements, severance agreements, and employee handbooks.
• Advise on onboarding, accommodations, disciplinary questions, and termination procedures.
• Counsel on employee classifications and regulatory compliance.
• Assess workplace practices to reduce risk exposure.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Train managers on workplace best practices.
• Provide crisis management guidance for unexpected HR issues.
• Handle workplace investigations and draft position statements for EEOC and state agencies.
• Manage administrative hearings, mediations, and litigation.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years' experience advising clients on Human Resources matters.
• Experience handling EPLI defense cases.
• Understanding of by-laws and board governance dynamics.
• Maryland bar license required; additional bars, including D.C., are a bonus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications
