Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm is seeking a dedicated and motivated Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate to join its Finance, Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group in Wilmington, Delaware. The successful candidate will support a wide range of creditor’s rights matters, including bankruptcies, restructurings, commercial collections, and related litigation in both federal and state courts. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with foundational experience in business bankruptcy and a desire to further develop within a dynamic and collaborative team.

Duties:
Prepare legal documents for Federal and State court filings, including pleadings, motions, briefs, complaints, and discovery documents
Draft and file bankruptcy-related documentation such as proofs of claim and summonses
Conduct legal research and analyze case law, statutes, legal codes, and secondary sources using platforms such as Lexis and Westlaw
Support attorneys with trial preparation and assist in evidentiary hearings, depositions, and court appearances
Handle routine correspondence and calls involving attorneys, trustees, clients, debtors, and the courts
Contribute to the overall case strategy and assist with restructurings, receiverships, and enforcement actions
Requirements:
2–3 years of experience practicing in business bankruptcy, insolvency, or related litigation
Must be licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Delaware
Excellent legal writing, analytical, and research skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to the Delaware Bar (required)
Skills:
Proficient in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
Strong drafting and litigation preparation skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
Effective communication with clients, courts, and colleagues
Knowledge of federal and state court procedures and filings
