A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its team in Charleston, WV. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of legal tasks, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Duties

• Evaluate new case files and develop strategies.
• Communicate effectively with clients.
• Produce and manage discovery documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
• Prepare and argue discovery motions.
• Draft and argue substantive pre- and post-trial motions and appeals.
• Attend pretrial listings and participate in trials.

Requirements

• JD degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active license in good standing in West Virginia; additional KY, OH, or VA bars preferred.
• 5-7 years of legal experience; insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
• Trial experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Active bar license in West Virginia.
