Job Overview
A respected law firm with statewide presence is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 0–5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation to join its Tampa office. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on litigation experience, including trying cases in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and eager to build a long-term career in insurance defense law.

Duties

• Manage insurance defense cases including bad faith and coverage matters

• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including hearings and trials

• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery

• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and Judges

• Perform legal research and prepare case strategies

• Utilize legal software and tools for case and time management

Requirements

• 0–5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation

• Strong writing and oral advocacy skills

• Ability to interact confidently and professionally with clients and court officials

• Comfortable handling responsibilities independently and as part of a legal team

• Skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and good standing member of The Florida Bar

Skills

• Excellent legal writing and persuasive communication

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Familiarity with litigation management software, virtual meeting platforms, and electronic billing systems
