A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of practice experience and will engage in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception to trial, with direct client contact. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina or have pending bar exam results.

Duties

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

• Prior insurance defense experience is encouraged.

Education
