The candidate should have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with 5-10 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation; experience drafting and reviewing employee benefits plan documents and summary plan descriptions for defined contribution, defined benefit, welfare plans, trust agreements, employment agreements, HIPAA compliance, and deferred compensation arrangements, as well as, contracts and service agreements related to employee benefit plans; Withdrawal liability experience a plus; excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills; excellent academic credentials; ability to learn and embrace new skills and best practices as the position evolves and Firm needs change, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, work well independently as well as effectively within a team, develop relationships and foster teamwork at all levels of the Firm, manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion, and confidence to identify and analyze issues, make decisions, and initiate actions/solutions; maintain composure and demonstrate good judgment; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff; excellent oral and written communication skills; agility to respond to unexpected challenges, including proactively developing innovative solutions to complex problems while maintaining a professional demeanor.
